Meet Brandi Woodard EdM, E-RYT, Founder
Brandi Woodard earned her Master of Education from Temple University and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kutztown University. Currently she is pursuing her PhD in Kinesiology/Somatic Sciences and hopes to continue to spread the message of fitness that addresses the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. She has nearly twenty years experience as both an educator and professional presenter on topics such as; mind body fitness, Ashtanga yoga, and the tragic realities of obesity and depression. In 2001, Mrs. Woodard developed and subsequently trademarked a dance fitness technique called Yodates® which Self Magazine described as “the new, exciting method to condition the mind, body, and spirit.” Mrs. Woodard has presented her techniques for various professional organizations such as IDEA and AAHPERD. She is also a sought after lecturer on the benefits of mind body fitness as a method to combat obesity and depression for Universities, Secondary Schools, and Fortune 500 companies. Mrs. Woodard has been the recipient of multiple grants and awards for her innovative approach to mind body expression.
Brandi is also the founder of The VinYasEmo Dance Company established as a non-profit organization in 1997 to enhance participants’ awareness and appreciation for contemporary dance and yoga techniques. Utilizing both class participation and performance observation, members are provided a pathway into the transformative potential inherent in these somatic disciplines. The intent is to cultivate a desire within all constituents to passionately rediscover their own potential as human beings; physically, mentally, and spiritually to give to others in a way that ultimately inspires and illuminates, passing on the torch of life and creativity.
